As CEO of Everything Science & More LLC, Dr. Shelley Connell is a dynamic and community-focused educator and leader. She is a visionary entrepreneur who possesses the ability to positively influence student outcomes by delivering programs that focus on small and whole group instruction. Dr. Connell inspires teachers to reach for excellence through challenging continuing education experiences built on a proprietary model known as “BUILD IT!”. She is recognized for her ability to engage audiences at all levels with programs in alternative assessment practices and curriculum development.
Born into a family of educators, Dr. Connell studied at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and earned a Masters and a Doctorate degree at Morgan State University. Dr. Connell began her career as a classroom teacher for grades 4-8. There, she developed an effective teaching format rooted in best practices, known as the PLEASED learning model. To the classroom she brought a strong belief in the home-school connection. It was in the classroom that Dr. Connell found a love for teaching. Having first been employed as a laboratory scientist and later as a dissertation Chair for Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Connell’s perspective is broad and wide-reaching.
She has authored peer-reviewed journal articles and is now at the helm of her own company known as Everything Science and More, LLC. Through this endeavor, Dr. Connell has reached a variety of audiences. She is evaluating a major mathematics and reading program in US Virgin Island Schools. She is providing parent and student enrichment for public schools on the East Coast and has several exciting engagements in Professional Development in the offing.
In her spare time Dr. Connell devotes herself to her family and to leading and volunteering in school and church-based programs.
