Simple and Effective Science Teaching for the 21st Century
A Professional Development Workshop for teachers and principals

              Students who are engaged in authentic scientific investigations are students who will exhibit critical thinking skills.

                                                              The process of developing such thinkers should be simple, yet effective.

       In this session, educators and principals will engage in hands-on investigations that are reproducible, highly effective with respect
                               to time and cost, reflect local or national standards and demonstrate scientific concepts.

 Participants will be empowered to cultivate effective science teaching that positively impacts student
                                                               achievement in their classroom.


                                                                            
Workshop participants will:

- Identify exemplary classroom practice that reflects 21st century thinking

-Engage in hands-on science activities that are reproducible, effective and fun for teaching K-12 scientific concepts

-Evaluate their science teaching skills

-Establish ways in which effective K-12 science teaching confidently impacts critical thinking and student achievement and can improve attitudes toward science

-Develop Next Stage Strategies that will cultivate effective K-12 science teaching in their clasroom

-Understand how to use the Take-Home Toolkit to continue simple and effective K-12 science teaching strategies after the workshop
